NC College & University Quick Facts
Do I need an ACT or SAT score to be admitted to college?
Traditionally, most students interested in attending a 4 year college need an ACT or SAT score. However, due to the ongoing COVID-19 crisis, many colleges are offering test optional admissions procedures to accomodate for students who are no longer able to access testing. Please note, scores may still be needed to qualify for special programs or scholarships. You should check the requirements for each college you are interested in. All UNC System colleges & universities are test optional for Fall 2021 applicants. You can find other test optional schools here.
How do I apply to college? You can apply (or be connected to the appropriate application website) for any college or university in NC using cfnc.org. If an essay or resume is optional please do submit. Ms. Jeselson will edit all of your application writing; simply email your drafts as a google doc she can make edits to. Be sure to complete Residency Determination and the FAFSA before enrollment time!
I'm still not sure if college is right for me. What should I do? Book an appointment with your school counselor. Together you'll explore your interests and find what options are right for you.
