NC Community College FAQ
Do I need an ACT or SAT score to be admitted to community college? NC Community Colleges (NCCCs) maintain an “Open Door” admissions policy. This policy provides for the admission of any persons who are 18 or over or who have attained a high school diploma or its equivalent (GED), and do not require ACT or SAT scores for general admission. However, admission to a NCCC does not imply admission to all programs of study as selected programs have limited enrollment. ACT or SAT scores may be used for admission to these more selective programs (such as nursing or other health professions). Contact your school counselor or the NCCCs you are applying to for more information if needed.
